Principles of Continuing Education Organization
HNRK’s economic activity notice number for adult continuing education is 191657.
HNRK organizes continuing education courses either as proposed trainings or according to specific orders. The main content, learning outcomes, and teaching methods of the proposed courses are visible under the respective course description. The exact scope, topics, and organizational conditions of the training are determined in cooperation with the client.
When developing continuing education courses, the needs of the target group, known evidence-based principles in the field of course content, legislation, and other important requirements are taken into account.

Wheelchair transfer ergonomics - practical and real!

Come to the training and learn how to most effectively help a person in a wheelchair transfer into a car, toilet, and bathtub, and how to assist a wheelchair user on stairs, uneven surfaces, and from the floor into a wheelchair.
Taught by occupational therapist Siiri Siimenson and physiotherapist Ines Margato.

Trainer: Kadri Englas, HNRK Board Member, physiotherapist.
Target audience: rehabilitation specialists
Number of participants: 20* (changes in the number of participants are possible by agreement with the training client)
Course duration: 6 academic hours** (the course duration can be changed based on the client's wishes and preferences – minimum course duration is 2 academic hours).
Course schedule: as agreed.
Prerequisites for study: Basic knowledge of recovery/rehabilitation and internal motivation to further conceptualize goal setting.
Course objective and topics covered: To provide an overview of goal setting in recovery/rehabilitation, including the potential impact of goals on the effectiveness of recovery/rehabilitation, and the facilitators and barriers to goal setting.
Specific topics will be agreed upon with the training client; possible topics covered in the training include:
- Goal setting in rehabilitation – what is it and how should it be done?
- Goal characteristics and tips for writing them.
- Is a wish a goal?
- Person-centered practices and their influencers in goal setting.
Teaching methods: A symbiosis of lectures and discussions (group discussions, group activities) combined with practical exercises, including the possibility of virtual delivery.
Learning environment: There are no special requirements for the learning environment – the ability to present is necessary, and a U-shaped seating arrangement for participants is preferred. Virtual training takes place in a Zoom environment, where each participant joining separately is preferred. Participants should have a working webcam, speakers, and microphone, as well as a stable internet connection. For both in-person and virtual training, it is important to ensure the possibility of conducting conversations/discussions.

Upon completion, participants will know:
- what a goal is in recovery/rehabilitation.
- what one of the possible goal-setting processes is and be able to provide examples of its application opportunities and difficulties in their own work.
- what goals have an impact on human behavior.
- what the possibilities are for involving individuals in the goal-setting process.
- how to write goals.
- what the difference is between a wish and a goal.
Completion of training: An electronic certificate of participation will be issued to all participants who have attended 100% of the learning activities.
